The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which I (the owner of Jamie’s Driving School) offer driving lessons and courses to you (the student).
1. General Conduct
I will behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times. My car is fitted with dual controls and is fully insured for training purposes. The car is a smoke free zone and is kept clean and tidy at all times (weather permitting).
2. Qualifications
I am fully authorised by the DVSA to give driving tuition in the UK, my A.D.I registration number is 813248.
3. Driving Licence and eyesight
I will ensure your eyesight meets the legal required limit before any lessons commence. You will need to read a number plate a distance of 26.5 metres. I will also need to check your driving licence is valid before lessons commence.
4. Safety and well being
Safety is a shared responsibility. I will endeavour to keep you safe at all times. However, it is important you follow all of the instructions I give and take an active role in keeping yourself safe also. Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear and ensure you feel fit and well for a lesson. The lesson will not commence if I believe you are not able to. If I suspect you are attempting a lesson under the influence of drink or drugs, the lesson will be cancelled at your expense and actions to cancel future lessons could be taken.
5. Lesson postponement and cancellation
If you need to postpone or cancel a lesson within 48 hours of the agreed lesson, I will charge for the lesson. If enough notice is given, I am happy to accommodate changes to your/my diary. If continuous cancellations occur, you may be removed from my student list to accommodate a new student.
6. Payments
All lessons require payment in advance. Flexible payment options are available, please ask for details. I operate a non-cash business; bank transfer and card payments are gratefully accepted.
7. The Driving Test
Driving tests always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may be postponed to allow for someone else’s driving test and vice versa. I reserve the right to refuse use of my training vehicle for a test if your driving is potentially dangerous to other road users.
8. Your Statutory rights
Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty goods or services provided. I have a statutory obligation to provide you with goods and services fit for the purpose for which they were bought and as described. If you have any doubts about your statutory rights please contact your local Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
